A cognitive assessment measures intelligence and determines strengths and areas of challenge compared to other people of the same age.

In the assessment, we complete a comprehensive background interview and we use the WISC, WAIS or WPPSI to specifically assess cognition, depending on your age. The assessments can be used to assess for intellectual disability, developmental delay and Specific Learning Disorders.

It can also be used to get a greater understanding of functioning, especially in an education setting such as school, and provide targeted recommendations.

Cognitive assessment results can also be used to get a clear picture of current functioning if changes occur over time, such as for dementia, stroke, brain injuries or other neurological conditions.

We offer cognitive assessments for adults, teens and children aged 6+.
